After recent events that have been occurring around our towns and the world, it is evident that time is never guaranteed. Life is something out of the hands of each person living the way they want to. No matter how hard you try, you are not promised tomorrow. The time you have left is not controlled by the clock on your wrist, it is simply decided by fate. When accidents, shootings, and natural disasters strike, it begins to open up the eyes of people who think they have forever. It is easy to live life thinking that tomorrow is a promised thing. It is easy to ignore the fact that the future is unknown and that life is completely out of your control. What is not easy is realizing that life is not guaranteed. It is difficult to comprehend that any moment can be your last and even if you do understand that, it is a daunting thought. People ignore the fact that time is not promised so they do not have to accept that their life is unlimited. It is tough to admit that you never know what will happen in your future.
As people begin to realize this through both personal and impersonal experiences, the way people perceive life will be altered. Society will realize that the thoughts that fill your mind daily are trivial. Students may notice that a single failed test or missed homework assignment is not the end of the world. People will realize that the small issues they face, have no importance in the end. Personally, after learning of an accident that affected people dear to my heart, I have been struggling with the idea of time. The simple fact that time is never guaranteed does everything including scare me. It is hard to wrap your head around the fact that tomorrow does not exist until you refer to it as today. Nothing in this world is guaranteed and therefore you need to live like it is your last chance. People need to start realizing that life should not be based on tests, arguments, and work, life should be full of the activities and the people that make it worth living in the first place. If people begin to live like it is their last day on Earth, the world will become a happier place.
And so, go out and take on the world. Live with wild ambition and find what makes you enjoy every minute of the day. Forget the trivial issues and focus on major accomplishments. Go to the beach, go on vacation, spend time with your family, and live the way you dream. You never know when your time will run out, so cherish every second and live a life full of love.
