Benson Boone’s Rise to Fame

Benson Boone is 21 years old and just a few years ago discovered his love for singing. He is a singer-songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist. Benson went on American Idol in 2021, and just a year before that, he figured out that he can sing. He then was told by Katy Perry that he has the potential to win the show. Not too long after, he decided to quit the show because he wanted to be known for his music, not as the guy who won American Idol.

Benson Boone signed with Night Street Records in partnership with Warner Brothers in October of 2021 and dropped his first official song in 2022 called “Ghost Town.” I have been a fan of his since he first started his career. I watched as his career grew, but still many people still did not know who he was until recently. Benson has been teasing his new song on his socials called “Beautiful Things” that has blown up his social appearance drastically. When he officially released that song, it jumped to number 1 on global charts. I went to two of his shows in 2023 and even though he performed at smaller venues, he put on one of the best shows I have ever been to. He has been my favorite singer for almost 3 years now and still continues to blow me away.

I went to see him for a third time on 4/11/24 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Benson Boone’s concerts are a vibrant taste of energy and excitement. With every beat drop and lyric sung, his performances transform the crowd into a burst of enthusiasm, filling the air with joy. With his soulful voice and captivating stage presence, Benson effortlessly weaves together an immersive experience that leaves audiences spellbound. Benson’s concerts are a testament to his ability to connect deeply with his audience, leaving a lasting impression long after the final chord fades away. He always knows how to make his fans happy and truly connect with the audience. His music always makes me so happy and getting the opportunity to see him perform live  is something I am forever grateful for. His set played included 15 songs, showcasing most of the songs on his new album called “Fireworks & Rollerblades.” Benson’s three most popular songs on the album are “Beautiful Things,” “Slow it Down,” and “Cry” which all made Billboard Hot 100 leaving “Beautiful Things” at #3. It is so fun to watch him grow, especially since I have been listening to him since he was a smaller artist.

I sent out a survey to a few classmates to hear their feedback on his new album that he just dropped. These were some of my favorite responses: “I love how unique his new songs are. Many singers like him write similar songs but his music stands out. I will definitely be listening to more of his music and following him during his current tour on socials.” This response shows how unique his music is. I agree completely with this response, his new music is so special and meaningful.

This is another response that I really enjoyed reading: “I can connect with his music so much. His music has helped me in so many ways that I am forever grateful for. He is so special and his music is amazing. I will always be a Benson Boone fan.” I love that everyone gets something different from his music. I had many people fill out surveys and most if not all really enjoyed his new album. I also asked a bunch of people if they knew the song “Beautiful Things” and everyone knew the song from their socials. As he continues to grow, I can’t wait to see what he has in store for the future.
