Athlete Profile: Chris Dalla Riva

Brendan Dyer

Q: Why did you start playing baseball?

A: I started playing because I found the game the most interesting out of all other sports I had tried. Also, there was much thinking involved, which I enjoyed.

Q: How long have you been playing baseball?

A: I’ve played my whole life.

Q: What are your plans for college?

A: Next year I’ll be attending Boston College and will probably play on some club baseball team.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of baseball?

A: My favorite aspect of baseball is the mental aspect of the game and hitting.

Q: Do you have any advice for other athletes?

A: I’m an advocate of practice.  If you want to be good at anything you have to practice, and, being a game of repetition, baseball is very conducive to practice.

Q: What have been your goals throughout your high school sports career?

A: My goals have been just to get the job done when the team needs me and play to win a championship.

Q: How do you balance sports and academics?

A: Sometimes it takes staying up late, but academics has always been a priority for me and if you’re willing not to waste time, it’s not too bad.

Q: What are some other hobbies you have besides sports?

A: Besides baseball, I’m an avid musician, playing the guitar.
