Poem 1 by Dan Carr
Hope is brave
Having hope takes courage
For one to have hope and be let down is the bravest thing there is
And yet we are all driven by hope
Hope that it will get better
Hope that we will finally receive our answers
Hope that hope even truly exists
Because when hope lets you down
There seems to be nothing left
Poem 2 by Angelina Squitieri
Although the road has ended, it is time to go in a different direction.
Our minds are craving something different. It’s time to be independent.
Now we are all spreading our wings and flying to a new place.
We all go at a different pace. But remember that it is not a race.
We will get there when we get there. Things will not always be fair.
We have to fight for what we want. We have to try.
We have learned so many new things and lessons that will stay with us forever.
Although things will never be the same, we will always keep them at the back of our brains.
So, go in the direction of your dream. And if things get hard. Just remember to take a breath and look up at the sky. Things usually aren’t always as hard as they seem.
Poem 3 by Rose Russo
Do you see that light?
That beautiful light, at the end of the tunnel
The light that shows you hope
That one day, the world will go back to normal
No more abandoned stores, no more empty streets
A world like before, where there were people everywhere
Friends talking and walking, people together
Not being distanced and no masks being worn
That’s what I see, when I look into the tunnel
And I hope that one day, that light will turn into a reality again
Poem 4 by Brandon Ozen
We all need some hope and light
To help cope with the feelings we fight
Once it’s sunny and kids are riding bikes
Or when we can finally start taking flights
Is when we will finally be alright
Can’t wait to hold loved ones tight
Happiness is always in sight
And don’t ever be afraid to reach new heights
Even In the darkest of times that should be your little light
