Athlete Profile: Cara Housel

Q:  Why did you choose to swim?

A:  My mom signed me up for a club swim team when I was six, and I just kept with it over the years because I enjoyed it. I am also incapable of doing any other sport.

Q:  What is your favorite aspect of swimming?

A:  My favorite aspect of swimming is the meets. I love cheering on my teammates, and competing against other teams.

Q:  Do you plan to swim in college? Where?

A:  I do plan to swim in college except I do not know where I’m going yet.

Q:  Do you have any pre-race rituals?

A:  I listen to music, and I also picture my races in my head so I know what times I want to achieve before I get in the water.

Q:  What’s your advice for other athletes?

A:  I would advise other athletes to never give up on their goal or goals, because in the end hard work will always prevail.
