The grass feels soft beneath my feet,
Though my thoughts are broken and incomplete.
Lonely hours pass silently by,
While colors slowly fade from the afternoon sky.
Soon enough the stars come out to twinkle,
But then come clouds that let down a sprinkle.
I let the cold rain seep into my clothes,
But I suddenly laugh as a drop hits my nose.
I laugh and laugh- something I haven’t done in weeks,
And I finally feel color rush back into my cheeks.
I feel as though I’m truly free
As I skip on home with feelings of glee.
