The Christmas season is back in Caldwell! Christmas is most people’s favorite holiday in town, and everyone is excited that it is finally that time of year. The Caldwellians know there will be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow. In Caldwell, there are many decorations that people love each year. There are the wreaths on each pole on Bloomfield Ave, Lit Christmas trees by the old Community Center, and of course the electrifying house on Decamp Court. Every year they have over-the-top decorations with their house lit up by a storm of Holiday Lights. Cars drive by and have to take a stop at the house each year and take a peek at the house. It has been a holiday tradition for several years now, and it doesn’t seem like they are stopping anytime soon. From a Santa inflatable as large as their house to lights ranging from all sorts of colors like red green white and blue, this house makes people all over Caldwell look forward to the Holiday season.

Don’t get too sidetracked from just that one house as there are beautiful decorations all around Caldwell, just like the house on Tempesta. The house on Tempesta contains beautiful white lights surrounding the house, white lights on the trees, and candy canes creating a walkway to the front door.

Additionally, beautiful Christmas wreaths are hung up all along Bloomfield Avenue, really brightening up Caldwell. They have amazing decorations all around, whether it’s lights and wreaths on houses, or lights lining the top of popular stores around town. You can’t forget about the big Christmas tree right in front of the Old Community Center as well. It was fired up on December 2nd, and it was a great gathering of families and all the people of Caldwell. It is a tradition every year for the Caldwell Fire Department to set up the big tree with lights that are tons of different colours, really adding some brightness to the town. Families love walking down to the tree to see the beautiful sight and taking pictures with their loved ones in front of the tree.

Additionally, there is a house on Central Avenue that has great lights and the front lawn is filled with inflatable Santa and Snowmen, and there is even a Santa on the roof with reindeer attached to his sleigh! Also located on Central Avenue, the Boy Scouts sell Christmas Trees, and other decorations for Christmas such as wreaths, and ornaments. Decorative lights are hanging above the trees. Being able to buy a Christmas Tree in Caldwell truly adds so much to the holiday season, considering there are tons of families from Caldwell and West Caldwell who love to purchase trees from there.

We interviewed the people of Decamp Court to see how they managed to get all these decorations up. The homeowners stated “We love decorating our house for Christmas. Seeing all the people drive by and enjoy the decorations makes all the effort put into it worth it.” The owners of the house on Decamp Court then explain how they have to prepare for weeks and unpack all of their Christmas decorations to create such a magical home for everyone in Caldwell to enjoy.

As soon as it hits December 1st in Caldwell, plenty of homeowners have already started decorating to make Caldwell and West Caldwell a more cheerful town. Another great thing on December 1st is the West Caldwell Tree lighting ceremony. It isn’t as spectacular as the one in Caldwell, but it is still a great gathering of friends and families who can listen to Christmas music, see the Christmas tree light up with all sorts of colorful lights, and see the man himself, Kris Kringle. There is no better time than December 1st and December 2nd to see the Christmas tree lighting, and we wish everyone the happiest of holidays this season.
