Review of Giants Game on 10/2/23

On this past Monday night, 10/2/23, the New York Giants suffered a major loss against the Seattle Seahawks. The final score was 24-3. The Giants record is currently 1-3 after Monday night and the Seahawks are 3-1. I was in attendance with my dad during this game because we have season tickets; but we unfortunately left during the 2nd quarter because of how bad the score was.

Being a Giants fan can come with a lot of ups and downs. This year we have suffered a lot of negatives. Our first game with the Cowboys was a huge upset and then we lost two weeks in a row to the 49ers and then the Seahawks. The Giants need to improve their offense if they want to have a victory against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. Having their running back injured is also not helping them get towards the end zone. Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain in Week two of the season. The Giants head coach Brian Daboll spoke on Barkley’s injury a few weeks ago, “Given that Barkley had at least a chance to play Monday, that would seemingly give him a chance to play in Week 5. And he has indicated that he wants to return as quickly as possible from the injury” (Camenker). Hopefully, we will see Barkley on the field this weekend in Miami.

Giants games are something that are very meaningful to me. No matter how bad the Giants are, you will always catch my dad and I at every home game. My dad and I get to every game right when the gates open and tailgate right until kickoff. We have a few special traditions that we do with our family friends at the games. Walking into the games at Metlife is a surreal experience that I hope all fans can see one day.

Prime time home games are my favorite. The fireworks after the national anthem and the lights shining up in the sky are something that feels incredible as a Giants fan. I hope that we the fans stay positive and cheerful throughout the rest of their season even though we could be a better team. Overall, I hope all Giants fans are staying uplifted during our rough season but, hopefully we will see a win in the next few weeks at Metlife Stadium.
