I have met a good handful of seniors this past year, many through after school activities. I knew I was going to meet many new people, but I did not realize how amazing they could be.

I first want to thank the seniors involved in the school play. I joined the school play to continue my interest in the arts, but I did not expect to become close acquaintances with many seniors in such a short amount of time. This experience changed my life and their dedication to theatre taught me to be more confident in what I enjoy, even if it is a subject that others dislike. Thank you all for “taking me in” and proving to me how worthwhile theatre can be.

I also would like to thank seniors on the Cross Country Team. I have no idea why I joined that particular sport, but I am glad I did. Seniors on the team taught me that competition is not necessarily a negative concept. Competition can lead to success and hard work often come from competing in not just runs, but in school life. These upperclassmen motivated me throughout the season to not give up and to always push myself.

Next in importance are the seniors in Symphony. These seniors reminded me that dedication to music is extremely vital, especially in a public school where it is not the most important topic. Throughout the year, they continued to make me smile and teach me that it is great to embrace my passions.

Lastly, I would like to thank a few certain seniors, Rebecca Davenport and Megan West, that helped me become involved in Key Club. These seniors, along with all seniors in Key Club taught me to always strive to help others. If it were not for them, I would not have participated or even cared about volunteer work. Key Club has become a large part of my academic life now because of those seniors who have helped me grow in ways I cannot express.

This year could not be complete without those seniors who have helped me along the way. So,  congratulations to all seniors making their next big step into their lives. I wish you all best of luck.
