
The 2025 fall season has been very successful for the Caldwell Chiefs. Each team worked to have a great season, even when faced with difficulties. Many seniors experienced their last time ever playing the sport that they dedicated their time to. All that time they spent training and conditioning has now come to an end. Practices during the summer and after school have all paid off. The long games and meets have come to an end. Some will move on to play in college while others are hanging up their shoes. It is true when people tell you that time moves fast and that reality is setting in for many seniors as they finish out the sport they love.
Football
The Caldwell Chiefs football team, coached by Todd Romano had a memorable season. Opening with a loss to Passaic Valley fueled the chiefs to fight for a win. They were able to defeat Westwood, Cedar Grove, Millburn, Nutley, and Dumont. They ended the season playing against Westwood in the 2025 Football – NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 Tournament, with a record of 5 wins and 5 loses. Seniors on the football team are Nick Moyano, Teagan McOmish, Kaelen Harper, Solomon Soriente, John Aguirre, and Elvis Nikollaj.
Cheer
Coached by Susan Bergman and Susan Callaghan, the Caldwell Chiefs Cheerleaders supported both the football team and the soccer teams. They competed in the annual Cheer for the Cure event on October 7th. The girls brought home the first place title in the Liberty Division Championship. Seniors of the cheer team are Madeline Hoarle, Olivia Plath, Siley Caplan, Charlotte Meany, Dani DeRiggi, Mia Pacifico, Marjorie Ruiz, and Nicole Albertazzi.
Girls Soccer
The Girls Soccer Team coached by Kelli Fernicola worked to have a great season. They started off with a win against Cedar Grove and pushed to beat other teams. The girls never backed down, winning against Millburn, Verona, Newark East Side, Payne Tech, and Belleville. They ended the season with a record of 7 wins and 12 loses, losing to Becton in the 2025 Girls Soccer—NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 Tournament, First Round. Seniors on the girls soccer team are Tea Fiore, Julia Enright, Addy Cook, Mia Rodriguez, Callie Mayes, Sophia Rodriguez, and Ava Tsettos.
Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer Team, coached by Martin Rodriguez worked hard throughout their season. They started out with a win against Science Park. They kept pushing through until their season ended against Voorhees in the 2025 Boys Soccer—NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 Tournament. The boys team finished their season with a record of 6 wins and 15 loses. Seniors of the boys soccer team are Heath Pane, Vincent Goodwin, John Emery, Spencer Budris, Kenneth Monroy, Ryan Keenan, Alexander Morcom, Brendan Cunha, Henry Goodwin, Lucas Suarez, and Brody Newman.
Field Hockey
The Girls Field Hockey team, coached by Sarah Pallino had an outstanding season with a record of 13 wins and 9 loses. The girls started out with a win against Livingston and kept going from there. Their season ended against Madison in the 2025 Field Hockey NJSIAA-North Jersey, Group 1 Tournament, Quarterfinal Round. The seniors of the field hockey team include Morgan Manriquez, Crawford Checchetto, Maya Torjussen, Chloe Logan, Abby Anemone, Leila Siedler, and Gabby Hidalgo.
Cross Country
Starting the season off with a new coach, Paul Kartanowicz, both the boys and girls cross country team pushed to run a great season. In the SEC Championship, the boys team earned third place in the Boys Liberty Race while the girls team earned 6th place in the Girls American Race. The season ended with the girls in sixth place at the NJSIAA Sectionals – North 2 2025, just shy of advancing and the boys in eighth place. Seniors of the boys cross country team are Cameron Galbierczyk, Izaya Ouckama, Julian Sahuto, and Sean Akersten. Seniors of the Girls Cross Country Team are Emily Glennon and Jillian Blair.
Girls Tennis
The Girls Tennis Team, coached by Ron Masson played a tough season, opening with a loss to West Essex. The girls fought back to earn a win against Verona. They continued to work and ended the season with a win against Cedar Grove, leaving with a record of 4 wins and 14 loses this season. The seniors of the girls tennis team are Madison Decker, Lillie Carey, Isabella Delgado, Sophia Helou, Pilar Jacobs, Lacey Levine, Isabella Margraff, and Nora Scheid.
Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball team, coached by Rachel Kelly worked together to have a great season. They opened with a loss to Cedar Grove, however, perceived to then win against Glen Ridge. The girls ended the season with 9 wins and 13 loses, losing to Hanover Park in the 2025 NJSIAA Girls Volleyball—North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 Tournament, First Round. The senior of the volleyball team is Olivia DePiro.
