Hurry Up Tomorrow is The Weeknd’s sixth album, released on January 31, 2025. The Weeknd collaborated with many artists while making this album, including Travis Scott, Lana Del Rey, Future, Playboi Carti, Justice, Anitta, Giorgio Moroder, and Florence and the Machine. Hurry Up Tomorrow is one of The Weeknd’s longest albums, featuring 22 songs and running for 84 minutes. Unfortunately, after The Weeknd goes on tour, he has announced that he will be ending his music career. He stated that this is something he no longer wants to do.
Personally, my favorite song on the album is The Abyss, featuring Lana Del Rey. Arguably, the best transition on the album is between the two songs Baptized in Fear and Open Hearts. You can only hear the transition if you listen to the songs on the main album on Apple Music or Spotify. The song Cry for Me is currently the most popular track from the album on TikTok and the radio. As of February 11, 2025, the song has 21.7k posts on TikTok. Since the song was released recently, the number of videos using it shows how many people have already listened to it.
Since the album’s release, The Weeknd has already announced a tour for Hurry Up Tomorrow, which will begin on May 9, 2025. The tour, called After Hours Til Dawn, will start in Phoenix, Arizona. At the Grammys, The Weeknd made a surprise appearance and performed a few of his old and new songs. This unexpected performance felt like a comeback, bringing him back into the spotlight just in time for the release of his album.
Another song from the album that I often listen to is Open Hearts. I feel like it is one of his faster songs, and I enjoy when the music is upbeat. Since so many people have listened to Hurry Up Tomorrow, it has been trending all over social media. Fans had been eagerly waiting for this album and tour. The Weeknd’s last album, Dawn FM, was released in 2022, so fans had been waiting a long time for new music. As a huge fan, I was excited for its release and happy that it finally dropped.
Throughout The Weeknd’s music career, he has released ten albums since 2011, with Hurry Up Tomorrow being his last. His albums include House of Balloons, Echoes of Silence, Kiss Land, Beauty Behind the Madness, Starboy, After Hours, The Idol Vol. 1, Dawn FM, Live at SoFi Stadium, and finally, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Out of all of these albums, Hurry Up Tomorrow has been one of his biggest, selling 49,500 album units in its first week. This made it the biggest debut of the year and the biggest album release since Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department in May 2024.
