November 3rd, 2024 was the final date of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in the United States, where she visited Indianapolis for three nights. “The Eras Tour” began on March 17th, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. The tour will make a stop in Toronto before concluding in Vancouver on December 8, 2024.
Along the way, Taylor has been accompanied by many artists who are now very well-known. These include Gracie Abrams, Paramore, Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, Haim, Benson Boone, and many more who have followed along on the journey.
Taylor has also had many accomplishments throughout the years since her Eras Tour began. She released her 12th album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” announcing it at the Grammys. She released two Taylor’s Versions which are the re-recorded versions of albums she’s previously released that were stolen from her. These two albums were “1989” and “Speak Now,” which she announced at her shows. She still has two more Taylor’s Versions, Reputation and Taylor Swift, to release that many are speculating is coming soon. Taylor also released a movie on Disney+, called “The Eras Tour,” which is her tour filmed and welcomed to inside people’s homes. Soon, she will be releasing a book covering all aspects of “The Eras Tour.”
Not only did she have many accomplishments in her career, but her love life has had its ups and downs since the start of her tour. She was reportedly dating Matt Healy when she announced her tour, but they broke up once her tour had begun. There are many videos roaming TikTok where she seems visibly upset when singing sad songs, or even love songs, while on her tour. However, love struck for Taylor over the summer of last year. Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce was rumored to be dating Taylor Swift. They confirmed their relationship when Swift was seen cheering him on in the stands at his games, right after Kelce was spotted at one of her concerts. Now, they are publicly together and they both support each other’s careers by cheering one another on. Taylor changed the lyrics to her song while performing it on tour from “Karma is the guy on the screen” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” while Kelce was present at her concert.
“The Eras Tour” is known for its detailed outfits that vary each night, the compilation of ten different eras with fan favorite songs, and even a special surprise song section, where she plays any one of her songs each night on the piano and guitar. The fans love to make their own outfits, representing one of Taylor’s eras, do certain chants during her songs, and especially like to make friendship bracelets to trade with other fans at the concert.
A couple months into “The Eras Tour,” a fan created an app called “Swift Alert.” The app contains all sorts of things including merch, live streams to watch the tour, ranking games, and the most popular game called “Mastermind.” “Mastermind” is when fans pick each outfit that Taylor will wear for her concert, as well as what surprise song she will sing that night. The person who accumulates the most points by guessing the outfits and songs correctly wins the prize of the night, which can range from merch, vinyls and cds, to even guitars. It’s become a way for “Switifies” to engage and interact with one another through the love of her tour.
“The Eras Tour” has impacted the lives of many Taylor Swift fans, and will be very emotional for those who have followed the tour since it began. It will also be emotional for those who didn’t have the opportunity to visit one of her concerts, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. Many fans missed out on this tour due to the uncontrolled and unreliable ticket source, Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster has robbed fans of the chance to see Taylor on the road with it’s longwinded process to even be able to buy a ticket. They also have failed fans by letting in many bots who have bought thousands of tickets, only to resell them at absurd prices. There have also been many cases of scammers, who claim to be selling tickets only to steal your money.
Through all the ups and downs of “The Eras Tour,” all the outfit changes, the songs, the sold out and record-broken crowds, the laughs, and most importantly the cheerfulness of the fans, this tour has been a journey that the fans have stuck with day by day. It will forever go down in history as one of the greatest and biggest tours an artist could go on.
