Trader Joe’s, a chain supermarket, has become popular in the last few years for its unique foods. Most of their food is store-brand, and they follow many food trends. Here are my top five favorite items, which can usually be found all year long (in no particular order).
Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings: These are delectable and incredibly easy to make. They can be microwaved or steamed. These soup dumplings have a chicken flavor and can be found in the frozen food section. They come six to a package, which can be shared or eaten in one sitting. I totally recommend it.
Southwestern Chopped Salad: This salad comes with various types of lettuce, carrots, tortilla chips, sunflower seeds, and dressing. This salad is absolutely great with grilled chicken and can be eaten for several meals.
Ice Cream Sandwiches: These ice cream sandwiches are an absolute fan favorite. They often sell out since they are so popular. They have a great chocolate chip cookie and ice cream flavor. They are even great if they are a little melted.
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups: I recently tried these peanut butter cups as I am a fan of Reese’s. The chocolate to peanut butter raito is great, and they are not as big as traditional peanut butter cups, making them a great bite-sized snack. The chocolate is very creamy and blends great with the peanut butter.
Super Sour Scandinavian Swimmers: The Super Sour Scandinavian Swimmers are gummy candies. They have a fruity flavor to them and a nice gooey texture. If you are not into sour candies, they also make regular ones. The flavors vary in the package, and they often make seasonal flavors. Super Sour Scandinavian Swimmers are worth a try, especially if you are a fan of Swedish Fish.
Overall, Trader Joe’s is worth the hype. The store carries a great variety of unique foods and just provides an overall great experience.
