After a very successful first season and a year long wait, “The Mandalorian” has finally returned with its second season on Disney+. The show currently has an 8.7/10 on IMDb and a 90% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starring Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian, this new season continues to follow him on his journey to bring his little companion, “The Child,”‘ or more popularly referred to as “Baby Yoda,” back to his species. As they embark on their journey, they encounter other allies and enemies along the way. While only the first few episodes were out when I wrote this article, this season continues to capture what made the first season so entertaining and special.
As any piece of Star Wars media should be, the visuals are a major highlight. “Mando” Season Two, like its first season, certainly delivers with its incredible visuals. Whether it’s the cinematography, special effects, or set design, the show perfectly captures the true essence of Star Wars. The show always has this movie-like quality that makes it feel like you are watching a mini Star Wars movie instead of a TV show. The special effects are top notch and feel seamless alongside the practical elements of the show. The set design is highly detailed and diverse, giving every location a unique and lived-in feel.
This season also continues to bring Mando to new and unfamiliar planets that gives the viewer an even closer look into the Star Wars universe. The locations and the creatures are so diverse from one another, and no two planets ever feel the same, as there is always some aspect of the world that feels distinct to that planet alone.
Whether you are a Star Wars fan or not, I highly recommend that you give this show a watch if you have Disney+. If you watched the First Season a year ago and enjoyed it, I recommend that you check out the new season as well. There is something for everybody to enjoy when watching this show.
