The James Caldwell swimming team has had yet another successful season this year. The girls ended the season with a record of 9-1. The girls team was led by seniors Grace Endersby, Alex Bambrick, Molly Norton, and Jamie Campion. When discussing the season with Molly Norton she said, “All of our hard work throughout the season has paid off.” The hardwork has paid off because the girls just won the countie tournament for the third year in a row.
The boys ended with a record of 4-6.The boys were led by Conor Byrne (senior), and Tom Murray (junior). When asked how the season went Conor Byrne replied, “I was very happy with how we did this season. Although we went 4-6 I think we turned some heads with some great performances from the guys and I am very excited to see how we do in the state tournament.” Both teams had great seasons and growing underclassmen that have big shoes to fill leading into next year.
The swim team demonstrated commitment this season by practicing even in harsh weather conditions. When a snowstorm hit Caldwell all of the members of the team sent in videos of them diving into the snow in their bathing suits including the coach Mr. Trivino. The team had fun all season in and out of the water. The regular season has ended but there is still the possibility to win states. They have been working hard in practice and are motivated to win states. The swim team will be heading to Drew University Wednesday, February 3rd. Good luck to the swim team and make sure to go and support them on their journey to win states.
