There are many delicious Valentine’s Day Chocolates for people to purchase during the month of February, but some seem to be towards the top of the list of fan favorites! They stand out because of value, assortment, product choices, and many other factors allowing them to do really well during the Valentine’s day season! Here are some of the best and most popular brands of chocolates for Valentine’s day, and some facts as to why from observations and statements from current JCHS students.
Russell Stover

Russell Stover has always been a great brand, and it comes at one of the best values in compassion to others. Its classic heart-shaped box is a must for the month of February. Its variety of chocolate pieces are very enjoyable, and have a great appearance! Some of the flavors featured in the assorted chocolate heart boxes are: Milk Chocolate Caramel, Milk Chocolate Peanut Cluster, Dark Chocolate Truffle, Milk Chocolate Strawberry Crème, Dark Chocolate Nut Caramel, Dark Chocolate Vanilla Crème, and Milk Chocolate Butter Crème.
Tony’s: Chocolate Rose Raspberry

Tony’s is a great chocolate brand overall, however, their rose raspberry themed chocolate tops the charts! The milk chocolate with raspberry flavoring is delicious and has a very fitting appearance for Valentine’s day. JCHS Senior, Lucia Rama added that, “Tony’s chocolate is ethically sourced, and some of their proceeds go to a foundation in Ghana, so even though you may be having an unhealthy treat, it is good to know your money is going to a good cause!”
Ghirardelli

Ghirardelli is not just a Valentine’s day brand, but its Valentine’s day assortment really stands out. In their heart box of chocolates, their Milk Chocolate Caramel with Crisps, Milk Chocolate Strawberry Cream with Crisps, and Milk Chocolate Almond Nougat with Hazelnuts and Crisps give a huge taste of flavor from the first bite. Ghiardelli has a heart box, along with heart shaped chocolates in various other packaging styles, leaving lots of product choices for the holidays!
Lindor

Lindor is another brand that isn’t seen primarily as a Valentine’s day brand, but is one of the perfect choices! It gives customers many opinions, and offers some Valentine’s day specials to allow people to stay on theme in February, and still be able to purchase their products. This smooth chocolate keeps their original appearance, but adds some Valentine’s fun to their packaging, as well as introducing some on theme flavors. Some popular ones for Valentine’s day include: Raspberry Cheesecake, Strawberries and Cream, and Dark Chocolate Raspberry.
Brookside Chocolate Dark Chocolate

Although this brand isn’t Valentine’s day themed, it definitely is the perfect treat to add to a Valentine’s basket, and must be talked about! Brookside chocolate is dark chocolate, each with a different filling. The filling choices are: Acai & Blueberry, Pomegranate, Goji & Raspberry, and Morello Cherry. JCHS senior, Olivia Path, shared her opinion on Brookside Chocolate, “It’s a very romantic treat to share with someone you love, and is a lot better than most Valentine’s day themed chocolates!”
Reese’s

Ressse is a fan favorite during any month of the year, but their heart shaped chocolates for Valentine’s day put a smile on everyone’s faces! They keep their delicious flavor of chocolate and peanut butter the same, but change their original cup shape to hearts. However, they did in fact create a pink heart to add something new to their inventory of Valentine’s day goodies! JCHS senior Jill Blair added that, “The combination of chocolate and peanut butter makes it stand out compared to other Valentine’s Chocolates!”
The list continues with many other amazing brands, but these were some that many people in the JCHS community, as well as people beyond the community, enjoy! Some are heart shaped, some are milk chocolate, and some have filling, but all offer a unique, but delicious taste! There are so many types, giving plenty of options during one of the busiest chocolate purchasing months!
