About the Movie
The movie Anaconda, directed by Tom Gormican is about two best friends Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) who wanted to make their childhood dream a reality. They wanted to direct a movie, a low-budgeted one though. So, they decided to recreate the original Anaconda movie. They took their crew to the Amazon, in hopes to use a real snake in their film, but with safety precautions of course. With a shocking twist, their innocent movie-making plot turns into a fight for survival when a giant snake appears and is out for blood. This hilarious film, with guest appearances by Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez, left people with moments of lots of laughs, and kept viewers at the edge of their seats. Will the crew make it out alive? JCHS Students’ Reactions to the Movie
JCHS student, Cameron Galbierczyk stated that this movie is a must watch. He said, “There are different elements of excitement with twists and turns that left me shocked, laughing, and engaged throughout the entire duration of the movie.”
Another student, Sara Lopes, added that she thoroughly enjoyed the movie and loved how it incorporated parts from the original 1997 film. It is clear that this movie has its amazing factors. Students were left with messages of teamwork and survival to sit with.
Student Olivia DePiro explained, “The movie was quite the watch! It was very fun to see the crew try and survive with the hilarious action-packed events that occurred. ”

- Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal were the original leads of the movie, but a scheduling conflict came up, and Jack Black was casted instead.
