Popstar Sabrina Carpenter released her album, “Short n’ Sweet” on August 23, 2024 and it was followed up by her tour.
On September 29th, I attended Sabrina Carpenter’s concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. This was Sabrina’s fourth show on her “Short n’ Sweet” tour so far. I had the opportunity of attending Sabrina’s tour last year, her “Emails I Can’t Send” Tour. This time around, I was blown away to see how far she has come, in terms of her set design and crowd interaction.

Sabrina completely sold out Madison Square Garden which seats 19,500 people. When I saw her last year, at Terminal 5 in New York, the capacity was 3,000 people. Sabrina increasing her capacity by more than 16,000 people truly shows her ability to grow as an artist as a whole and in the big Pop platform.
Sabrina’s show was an insanely cool and different type of concert experience. The show opens up with a pre-recorded message which leads up to Sabrina’s first appearance on stage. I have been to multiple concerts, and none of them were in this type of style. Sabrina opened up with her hit song, “Taste” to which everyone started screaming and singing along to, including me.

The whole time I couldn’t help but notice the amazing set design which was shaped like a house. It was more intricate than anything I have seen in my many other concert experiences. Sabrina performed songs in different parts of the house on the stage. Besides the house set, the stage extended with a runway, which led to a B-Stage shaped like a big red heart, from which she also performed. One thing about her concert that I really enjoyed was that she sang songs from her album, “Emails I Cant Send,” and of course, her newer album, “Short n’ Sweet.”
Towards the end of the concert, Sabrina did a “spin the bottle” game, in which she spun a literal bottle on the stage and played the song that it landed on. All the different options for her to sing are all songs not written by her. The bottle landed on “Mamma Mia” by ABBA, which she soon played, which I was really excited for because I love this song. Everyone in the crowd sang along loudly, and just had such a fun time.
At the end of her show, she closed it with her hit song, “Espresso,” and it was the perfect way to end the show. I believe this because it allowed many people to feel happy and upbeat– and not leave off in a sad tone that would be accompanied by what many concert-goers know as “post-concert depression.”
Overall, this concert was one that I very much enjoyed and just loved the atmosphere. Everyone who was at Madison Square Garden was just screaming and singing in happiness and excitement. Sabrina put on an amazing performance with a few outfit changes during the show. The outfit changes are important to the show since it gives Sabrina a little break off stage, and leaves the fans waiting for the next part with so much excitement.
My rating of her concert would definitely be a 9.5 out of 10, as I enjoyed the entire show and had the best time. I was so lucky that I got to see Sabrina two times and I hope that I will have the chance to see her again.
