I think we can all agree that fall is a beautiful time of year. In the United States, there are so many fun activities that people enjoy partaking in every fall. Similarly, there are many fun festivals and celebrations that take place all over Europe during the fall. The tradition of holding fall festivals and celebrations has been an important part of European culture for centuries and is still an important part of European culture today. Here are some of the main fall celebrations and festivals that take place in Europe:
- Paris Nuit Blanche, France
Paris Nuit Blanche, also known as White Night, is an annual all-night art festival in Paris that takes place on the first Saturday of October. During this art festival, Paris’s museums and galleries will be open for free to visitors late in the night. In addition, the libraries invite the public to special events, all the tourists’ attractions are open, and many street shows are held in venues all over the city (“White Night in”).
- Olivagando, Magione, Italy
Every November in Magione, a region known for producing some of the world’s best olive oil, there is a two-day festival celebrating the olive harvest. While olive oil tasting is the central part of the festival, attendees also enjoy tasting local wines, walnuts, cheeses, chestnuts, cured meats, and truffles (“Top Five Coolest”).
- Falmouth Oyster Festival, England
The Falmouth Oyster Festival in Cornwall, England, is a four-day festival that is dedicated to the native Fal Oyster and Cornish seafood in general. During these four days of the festival, there are food tastings, live music, craft stalls, and cooking demonstrations by regional top chefs at the Discovery Quay (Events Square) (“Falmouth Oyster Festival”).
- Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, Spain
Every two years in September, Sevilla holds one of the most famous flamenco events in the world, known as the Bienal de Flamenco. In different theaters of the city, there are flamenco dancers, vocalists, and guitarists performing (Meeroona).
