Signing Day is not only a time for athletes to officially commit to their respective colleges, but it’s also a day to celebrate their athletic achievements over the course of their lives. Throughout the last few years, talented JCHS athletes have proven why they’re able to play at the next level on the high school and club sport level. The eight committed athletes thus far include:
Kate Quinn. Kate, a two sport athlete in field hockey and lacrosse, has been a lacrosse starter on varsity since her freshman year at JCHS and has played club lacrosse at DEWLAX. She signed to continue her lacrosse career at Drexel University and will be playing in the Colonial Athletic Association conference at the Division 1 level.
Charlotte Lepis. Charlotte has always been an exceptional swimmer at the high school and her commitment to continue her swimming career at Marist College was no surprise. She helped the Chiefs to win a sectional title her sophomore year and will be competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at the Division 1 level.
Peter Murray. Peter, a two sport athlete in football and lacrosse, is an extremely talented lacrosse attackmen. He has been on the varsity lacrosse team all four years and has played club at NJ Riot Lacrosse. He also signed to continue his career at Marist College and will also be competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at the Division 1 level.
Francesca Veltri. Fran has been on the varsity soccer team since her freshman year at JCHS and has played club soccer with STA for four years. She is a dynamic midfielder and defender and signed to continue playing soccer at Drew University and will play in the Landmark Conference at the Division 3 level.
Gil Prial. Gil, a two sport athlete in hockey and baseball, has helped the varsity baseball team out since his freshman year. Both a lead off hitter and speedy centerfielder, he has been crucial to the Chiefs’ success. He signed to continue his baseball career at Rutgers Newark, where he will be competing in the New Jersey Athletic Conference at the Division 3 level.
Michael Scaglione. Mike, a two sport athlete in football and baseball, is a standout pitcher on the JCHS baseball team with a wicked slider. He has helped guide the Chiefs to several wins throughout his junior year. Mike will also be playing at Rutgers Newark and playing in the NJAC at the Division 3 level.
Pasquale Capozzoli. Pat, a three sport athlete in football, wrestling, and lacrosse, has been key for the lacrosse team as goalie and helped to lead the team to a sectional final appearance his junior year. His versatility and quick hands has made him a brick wall in net, and he has signed to continue his lacrosse career at Kean University and will be competing in the NJAC at the Division 3 level.
Caitlin Cetrulo. Caitlin, a two sport athlete in soccer and softball, has been on the JCHS softball team since her freshman year and is one of the best hitters in the state posting an above .600 average in her junior year. She signed to continue her softball career at Stockton University also in the NJAC at the Division 3 level.
