Brian Warner, better known as the singer, songwriter and actor, Marilyn Manson, has been accused of abuse by several women of whom he had past relationships with. The most notable woman being one of his ex-fiances, actress Evan Rachel Wood, who recently spoke out about Manson being her abuser.
Wood called out Manson in an Instagram post, stating:
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Woods has explained that the abuse she faced with Manson was sexual assault, violence, psychological abuse, and even threats against her own life. For years, Woods had been an activist for fighting against sexual assault and would share her stories of abuse in speeches to help spread her activism.
Woods bravery in sharing her story caused several other women to post their experiences of abuse with Marilyn Manson. These women are Ashley Walters, Sarah McNeilly, Ashley Lindsay Morgan, and Gabriella Accarino, each sharing their own experiences of abuse in Manson in police reports that had been filed against him.
In response to the abuse and assault allegations, Manson has been dropped by his record label, Loma Vista, and his segment in the AMC horror TV show, Creepshow has been cut. The future of Marilyn Manson music and acting gigs has been looking extremely stark.
Manson has posted a statement on Instagram denying the allegations made against him, stating that, “others are now choosing to misrepresent the past” and that all his past relationships were “entirely consensual”.
Now that all of these allegations have come out, California Senator Susan Rubio, is calling on the FBI and the DOJ to launch an investigation on these assault and abuse allegations that have been made against Manson.
