Fall sports have ended and that means it’s a time to reflect on the past season. Looking back on these past few months,  the team had much success along with a few losses. When asked, the girls’ soccer team had much to say about the past season. Emily Banaszynski says, “it was the best season I could’ve asked for to end my soccer career with. I have no regrets from the season and wouldn’t change a thing about the team.”

Ending with a 13-7-3 record the Chiefs had an extremely successful season. Big wins against West Essex, Glen Ridge, and Hackettstown pumped the girls up and increased their drive for the championship. The most important game of the season, the match against Bernardsville for the state sectional title, was anticipated with much anxiety. The girls pulled together throughout the run towards states and were able to top off the season by clinching the title with a 2-0 final. Katie Aliotta believes that, “it was a great season and we all worked really hard for each other and because of that we accomplished so much.”

Although the season is over no one will forget the memories made, experiences shared and friendships formed. From pasta parties in which the team watched inspirational videos, to locker buddies, to joking around on the field during practice, the girls have formed a bond that will never break.  Seniors Gabby Roselle, Aliotta, Val Corasaniti, Bianca DePaulis, Carleigh Trivino, Banaszynski, Paige Loudon, Ashley Davidson and Ijeoma Ikpe all agree that, “this season was the best senior season they ever could have hoped for.” Now the seniors leave it to the juniors to lead next year’s team to states and continue carrying on the Chiefs girls’ soccer spirit.
