The bowling team strikes back

With the winter season upon JCHS, the bowling team is beginning preparations for its season.  The season has yet to get underway, but the squad is already hoping for a great year. Senior bowler Sean R. Dyer had this to say, “I think we have a lot of potential and once we get our throws down, we’ll be pretty good.”

The team has gained many new members such seniors Andrew Goodman, Mark Mattheiss, Sean R. Dyer, Chris Dalla Riva, Chris Hreniuk, Jake Travers, Danielle Godfrey, and Jackie Finnegan.  With veteran sophomore bowler Will McCoy at the helm, and some help from returning senior Joe Meluso, the team will be able to compete with the best.  McCoy had to say about the team, “I am looking forward to a great season.  I think we are going to do really well.”  McCoy has the highest average game on the team currently with a 203.

The team has a tough conference schedule this year including games against Livingston, West Orange, Seton Hall, and Milburn.  Although these teams are very strong opponents first year senior Mark Mattheiss told The Caldron, “I am very excited for an exceptionally good year, and we have a whole slew of new kids.  I guarantee a winning season.”

As a whole the team hopes to finish very high in the Super Essex Conference this year.  Andrew Goodman’s words of wisdom to the team are, “If you ain’t spinning you ain’t winning.”  The team should do very well this season and bring pride to JCHS.
