On October 18th, 2024, Gracie Abrams released the deluxe version of her album, “The Secret of Us.” This included four new songs, titled, “Cool,” “That’s So True,” “I Told You Things,” and “Packing It Up.” Along with these new songs, Gracie also released three live versions of previous songs on the album, including her current biggest hit, “I Love You Im Sorry,” “I Knew It, I Know You,” and “Free Now.”
After listening to these four new songs, I have resonated a lot with the new song, “That’s So True.” This song is trending on TikTok right now, and under the sound, it currently has 109.5k posts, as of November 11th. “That’s So True” is one really catchy song, and more upbeat than some of her other ones. This song is more special to me because when I saw her at Radio City, she played it live before it was even released. On November 11th, Gracie released the live version of this song, which came as a surprise to fans.
“Packing It Up” is about getting into a new relationship unexpectedly. The lyrics that made that clear were, “ I swear that I wasn’t looking for much, But that’s just when you happened, That’s right when you happened.”
Gracie Abrams’ song, “I Love You, Im Sorry,” was released on June 21st, 2024. This song was instantly a hit, but once Gracie started touring in September, It became even bigger when she decided to make a melody change to the line, “Lay on the horn to prove that it haunts me,” This made fans such as myself go crazy, as they loved this new version. On October 9th, Gracie posted a TikTok which quoted, “Okay fine ILYIS out everywhere this Friday xoxo,”. This was an announcement that she was going to release the new and live version of this song, with the note change that everybody loved. Fans went crazy and my whole for you page on TikTok was filled with people using this sound.
Gracie recorded these songs through the music video network, Vevo. That is why the live version of her song is titled “I Love You, Im Sorry”– Live from Vevo. Along with this song, one of my favorites was live recorded, and that is “I Knew It, I Know You.” This song was not new on the deluxe, but it seems to be about having once talked to someone who you are no longer close with. “The Secret of Us” was probably my favorite new album that came out this year, and lucky enough, in October, I got to see Gracie on tour, which was amazing.
When I went to see Gracie on tour, it was at Radio City Music Hall, and I really just had the best time. This concert was definitely one of my favorites. All of Gracie’s songs resonate with at least someone, which is really good and that’s what I love.
