Sugar Factory Review

Sugar Factory Review

For a birthday celebration, I went to the Sugar Factory in New York City with a few friends last weekend. I had never been before, but I had heard a lot about it in the past and have even seen a lot of pictures on social media of people at the Sugar Factory. I was interested in if the food, particularly the goblet drinks and desserts, were really as good as they were made out to be. After going to the Sugar Factory, here is what I thought of the food:

Goblet Drink

Since it was our first time at the Sugar Factory, we had to try the signature goblet drinks. There was a huge selection of different Goblet drinks to the point where it took us a while to choose which goblet drinks we wanted to order. There were so many different flavors to choose from; many of the flavors were fruity or tropical flavors. Most of the Goblet drinks either had gummy candies in them or cotton candy laying on top of them. It was cool when dry ice was poured on the Goblet drinks because it not only made smoke come out of the drinks, but also made the drinks more bubbly. I ended up ordering the Pretty in Pink Goblet drink, which tasted like strawberry and raspberry lemonade. I really liked the flavor, but was disappointed that it didn’t come with any gummy candies. While the Pretty in Pink Goblet drink came with cotton candy, it melted into the drink once the dry ice was poured on it.

The Meal

The Sugar Factory is definitely known to be more of a dessert place, so I did not really have super high expectations when it came to the actual meal. Since we wanted to save room for a big dessert, none of us ordered any meal that would be too filling. I ended up just ordering chicken fingers and fries, which were pretty average in my opinion; they were decent but not the best I’ve ever had.

The Dessert

For dessert, we had one of the special birthday desserts that you can get when at the Sugar Factory. The dessert was this insanely huge bowl full of several types of ice cream with hot fudge, waffle cones, whipped cream, sprinkles, Oreo pieces, gummy bears, bananas, marshmallows, lollipops, a donut, a cupcake, and a cookie on top. All of us shared the giant bowl of ice cream by putting the ice cream and the toppings in our own little bowls. The huge bowl of ice cream was so good, and if you ever go to the Sugar Factory for a birthday celebration, I definitely recommend ordering it.

The Experience

The overall experience of going to the Sugar Factory was really fun; the Sugar Factory itself has a cool atmosphere that you are not going to find at a normal restaurant. The Sugar Factory also has really cool milkshakes that I definitely would want to try whenever I go back. The one downside to the Sugar Factory is that it is very expensive. However, the Sugar Factory is a really fun place to go to for a birthday or some other kind of celebration. Overall, I had a really great experience at the Sugar Factory in New York City.
