Dine-in vs. Dine-out: Dough Artisan Pizzeria of Caldwell

It’s always fun to get dolled up and enjoy yourself on a night out at a nice restaurant with delicious food. But then there are nights where you want to eat a nice restaurant meal, but don’t want to go through the hassle of dressing up and leaving your house. It’s also hard to know which restaurants have good food and service both dine-in and dine-out. This week, I decided to review Dough Artisan Pizzeria on Bloomfield Ave and ate dinner there on Wednesday, and ordered the same meal for takeout on Thursday. I rated each night out of four categories: quality of the food, taste of the food, service, and cost.

On the first night, I was seated right away and was brought a pitcher of water. Upon receiving a glass of water, the waiter then asked if I would like any drinks and I kindly declined. About five minutes passed, a decent amount of time for me to figure out what I wanted to eat, and the waiter returned to take my order. And wow! Not even a full 15 minutes had passed and my food was steaming and on the table. I had ordered zucchini crisps and a pizza pie. As usual, it was delicious and cooked to my liking. At the end, the waiter gave me the check, a grand total of $22.58 including tax, and asked if I needed a to-go box for the rest of my pizza and I gladly accepted. I rated my overall experience a 10/10, with quality: 10/10, taste: 10/10, service: 10/10, and cost: 10/10. I even left a $7.00 tip!

The next night, I called at around 6:30 p.m. and was greeted immediately and wasn’t put on hold. I ordered the same things and asked for it to be delivered. About an hour later, at an average delivery time, the food had arrived and the delivery man was really nice. The total came to $26.63 including tax, I’m assuming there was a delivery fee, and I tipped $7.00 dollars again.

The pizza came and wasn’t messed up as it sometimes is and the zucchini crisps were packaged fine as well. However, the cheese on the pizza was a little runnier and the zucchini crisps were a little soggy due to the condensation of the heat in the box. The food still tasted the same though. Everything was really good, and I was able to enjoy the food while watching a movie in my pjs! I rated the overall experience a 9/10, with quality: 8.95/10, taste: 10/10, service: 10/10, and cost: 10/10.

The only problem I had was a change in the quality, but it was inevitable due to the fact that it was in delivery boxes and wasn’t served fresh right out of the kitchen. In the end, I think no matter what you decide to do, dine-in or dine-out, Dough is a really good restaurant and their food is always so delicious! I would recommend dining in just to get the whole experience and the steaming food being delivered to your table, but no matter what you won’t be disappointed!
